The young brand will be presented internationally at London’s biggest kids show on July 16-17
Zinc, a newborn brand for alternative high quality childrenswear, is going to show its S/S 18 collection exclusively at Bubble London on July 16-17.
“We are excited to show our creations at Bubble London and share more about the brand with customers, buyers and colleagues from around the world,” shared Mihaela Stoilkova, Apparel and Graphic Designer at Zinc.
The collection comes in 23 pieces offered in 2 color combos, designed for 2 to 6 year old kids. The core idea is to have engaging asymmetrical clothes that could be dressed up and down depending on the occasion and accessories, so kids could creatively mix and match the pieces together. The cuts are designed with comfort in mind – each garment was proven by children to ensure the perfect fit. The future plans for F/W issue are to expand with a baby line and add accessories.
“I get a lot of inspiration from the modernism and Bauhaus style in particular and you will recognize it in the screen prints, embroideries and in the way colours were matched, ” shared Mihaela.
“We grasp the geometric simplicity of the style in the garments construction, too. It was great fun working with all the kids and mixing the colours,” added Mariana Stoilkova, Apparel Pattern Designer.
Zinc provides high quality cotton apparel on a reasonable price. Everything is manufactured in a close relationship with subcontractors and strict quality control is applied on each step of the production. The fabrics come from Turkey and Italy. The accessories – from Germany, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria. Only certified kids-friendly water based inks are used for the prints. The screen printing and embroidery houses are extremely particular about the quality, they work with well designated international brands.
Zinc is a family owned business. The two designers, a mother and a daughter, have started working on this collection almost a year ago. The focus is on the natural materials, simplicity and crisp colours, to bring comfort and joy to the kids when exploring the world.
